021222 meeting notes

10:12:41 From Linda Weldon to Everyone:

I have an iPad Pro, several years old, that appears to be dead.  The battery was slowing dying - it had to be recharged frequently.  Now it won’t turn on at all despite long charge times.  What to do with it?  Would it be worth trying to return to Apple for repair?  If recycle, how do I get my data off?  Is that a concern if it seems to be totally dead?

Any thoughts on my question way above in this chat about a “dead” iPad Pro?

11:04:06 From Terry Maros to Everyone:

Tags (on a Mac) are a Finder item. You manage them using Finder Preferences (Finder Menu>Preferences, or Command-comma). There you will find an item called Tags. Open this, and you will see all the tags you currently have available to use on the Mac.

11:04:30 From Terry Maros to Everyone:

Smart Folders automatically find and organize files on your Mac by your search criteria. Because they update continuously, these folders can save you a lot of time and effort.
